ABSTRACT

This paper collects information on the species resources of medicinal plants in Laos through various methods such as literature collation and analysis, sample line survey, visits and surveys, and initially obtains the medicinal plant resources in Laos, the use of folk herbs, and traditional medicine knowledge archives. It is found that Laos is rich with wild medicinal plant resources. There are 2 165 species (including varieties) belonging to 1 014 genera of 214 families, including 57 species belonging to 40 genera of 29 families of ferns, 32 species belonging to 17 genera of 8 families of gymnosperms, and 2 076 species belonging to 957 genera of 177 families of angiosperms. And, there are 108 kinds of medicinal materials currently circulatingin the market. Herbal resources is widely used in Laos, and many fresh herbs in the market have the special effects of relieving cough and promoting salivation, eliminating dampness, dispelling summer heat, nourishing yin and cooling blood. The medicinal materials for alleviating rheumatism and strengthening waist and knees in the market are with good prospects for development and utilization, so the development and management should be strengthened. China and Laos can conduct in-depth research and strengthen experience exchanges on traditional medicine experience.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To detect the expression levels of T cell immunoglobulin mucin-3 (Tim-3) in peripheral blood natural killer (NK) cells of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and to study their biological and clinical significance. Methods:The expression of Tim-3 in the CD3-CD56 + NK cells was examined in 72 patients with OSCC and 40 heathy controls (HC) by flow cytometry. The correlation of Tim-3 expression in NK cells with clinicopathological parameters was analyzed. Results:The proportion of CD3-CD56 + NK cells was significantly decreased in OSCC patients as compared with HC [(9.30 ± 2.52)% vs (17.36 ± 3.15)%,P < 0.001].The percentage of Tim-3 + CD3-CD56 + NK cells in OSCC patients was higher than that in HC [(14.35 ± 6.35) % vs (1.78 ± 0.86) %,P < 0.001].High percentage of Tim-3 + CD3-CD56 + NK cells was associated with cell differentiation, lymphatic metastasis and pathological stage of OSCC (P < 0.01).Conclusion:Lower proportion of NK cells and higher level of Tim-3 in peripheral blood NK cells may play a role in the development of OSCC.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the medical assistance to inpatients from low-income families for solving their difficulties in seeing doctors and affordability. Methods Random sampling was made to five ongoing medical assistance projects in the hospital for statistics and analysis of the data so collected. Results Medical expenses of such inpatients are beyond their affordability.Despite the coverage of their basic medical insurance, the reimbursement rate is too low to alleviate their financial burden. Conclusion A“4-party payment”model is recommended, combining the government support for basic medical insurance, social welfare assistance, philanthropic assistance and that paid by the inpatients. This model is expected to effectively alleviate the financial burden of such inpatients.

ABSTRACT

A method for the determination of cyromazine and dicyclanil residues on greasy wool was developed with HPLC and confirmed with HPLC-MS/MS.The cyromazine and dicyclanil residues on greasy wool were extracted with 1% trichloroacetic acid solution with ultrasonic, and cleaned up by MCX SPE column. The HPLC separation was performed on a Hypersil NH_2 using water-acetonitrile (V/V) as the mobile phase with gradient elution and detected at the wavelength of 214 nm.The corroboration method of HPLC-MS/MS was used with electro-spray ionization of positive ion mode. The [ M + H ]~+ and characteristic ions of dicyclanil were m/z 191.0, 150.0 and 163.0, and cyromazine were m/z 167.0, 85.0 and 125.0.The linear ranges of cyromazine and dicyclanil were 0.05-5.0 mg/L.There were good linear relationships between the peak area and concentration in the linear range. The correlation coefficient was 0.9999.The detection limit of cyroma zine was 0.02 mg/kg, and dicyclanil was 0.01 mg/kg.The average recoveries of cyromazine and the dicycla nil were 95.0%-99.9% and 83.6%-92.2%, respectively.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the immune effect and the security after inoculating rabies vaccine in children. Methods To investigate and to detect the antibody level by the way of ELISA among the 337 children wounded by animals and vaccined the rabies vaccine. Results The positive rate of the antibody is 99.7%, the ad-verse effect is moderate. Conclusion Domestic adjuvant-free aqueous rabies vaccine, domestic freeze dried rabies vaccine and peregrinus freeze dried rabies vaccine all have satisfactory immunogenicity and little adverse effect.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To study the effect of selectin on lung injury in rabbits with diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA). METHODS: 12 male New Zealand rabbits were divided into experimental group (DK groups, intravenous injection of streptozocin and alloxan monohydroate, n =6) and normal control group (received same dose of saline, n =6). After 72 hours, all the animals were killed and blood and lung tissue were collected. Blood gases, expressions of selectin-P and selectin-L were detected. RESULTS: The expression of selectin in DK group were higher than that in NS group. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that selectin expression may play an important role in lung injury during diabetic ketoacidosis.
